After helping Warden Iscan of the Diamond Clan to overcome his fear of ghost-type Pokemon, you'll be rewarded with the ability to befriend Basculegion. In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, this evolution of Basculin will become incredibly vital for traversing open water and catching the 'mons of the sea.

After spending some time riding atop various rideable Pokémon, and especially Basculegion, getting a Basculin of your own to raise is pretty tempting. Not to mention, this will also help you to expand and complete your Pokédex further.

Basculegion is a brand new 'mon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and to get them, you'll need to find a Basculin and evolve them. In this guide, we explain where to find Basculin and how to evolve them into Basculegion in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

How to Get Basculin in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

In Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Basculin can be found in a few different areas across Hisui:

  • Cobalt Coastlands - Islespy Shore
  • Cobalt Coastlands - Tranquility Cove
  • Coronet Highlands - Fabled Spring
  • Alabaster Icelands - Lake Acuity
  • Alabaster Icelands - Heart's Crag

How to Evolve Basculin into Basculegion in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Basculin has some rather unusual evolution conditions in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, but they're easy enough to achieve. To evolve into Basculegion, Basculin must take 294 damage recoil from its own moves. This is also without fainting!

This recoil damage can be spread between multiple battles, and moves that Basculin can learn which cause the damage are Wave Crash and Double Edge.

Basculin across Alabaster Icelands will be of a higher level than the regions before it. With this in mind, there's every chance that one of these 'mons will already know the required move for evolution. With a lower levelled Basculin, you may have to spend some time using them in battle and gathering EXP before they learn the move. Wave Crash is learnt at Level 34, and Double Edge is learnt at Level 43.

If Basculin is above these levels but doesn't know the move, you can simply change their moves in your menu and have them learn one of the moves that will inflict recoil.

That's how it's done! Good luck finding your Basculin, evolving them into Basculegion, and expanding your Pokédex entry for the species.
