Assassin's Creed Codename Hex release date speculation
Though we don't have an official launch window for Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe just yet, we do have a decent idea of when it could arrive, based on the other titles. We know that 2022 will finish off the major DLC for Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Then, following this up, we know that Assassin's Creed Mirage will launch at some point in 2023, likely around the holiday.
Then, we know that Assassin's Creed is moving towards Infinite, the next era of the game. In pursuit of this, we are getting tonnes of games, all based on different eras and locations in history. We are due to see Assassin's Creed Codename Red next, followed up by Codename Hexe. If this turns out to be the case, we may not see Codename Hexe until the end of 2025.
This being said, the choice to announce the game so far in advance is a strange one. Maybe they are ramping up their releases to come out a little earlier. We'll have to wait a little while to figure out what will happen.
Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe's setting
Though we don't yet know what the setting is, the short trailer we linked above hints at something very dark. With a name like Hexe and dark woods to introduce us, many believe we could be going to the witch trials for this game.
Hexe is German for witch and some fans have even been pointing at the Würzburg Witch Trials, as reported by NME.
What is Assassin's Creed Mirage?
Assassin's Creed Mirage is the next major Assassin's Creed title. Taking the player to 9th Century Baghdad, it is an attempt to go back to the roots of Assassin's Creed with a more stealth-driven approach. It seems like it is doing away with the huge RPG design of the last few titles for a tight narrative-driven game. It is set to launch at some point in 2023 though the exact window is not clear just yet.
