Oddworld: Soulstorm has been announced for PlayStation 5 at the console's reveal event, and it looks great!

Continuing a franchise that kicked off all the way back in 1997, here's everything we know about the game.

What is Oddworld: Soulstorm?

Originally slated for a 2017 release, the game has been described as "a complete story retake" of Abe's Exodus.

The story centres around Abe, part of a species called the Mudokans, who are slaves. Abe leads his brethren in an uprising against the horrific corporations they work for in 2D action platforming with some puzzle elements.

"Revolutions can come for the most unlikely of places or people," the developer writes in a new blog post.

"Our hero Abe was born a slave to big business, but ignorant of his plight. Happy to be one of millions of cogs in a giant machine that will literally eat them up. He knew of no better life. All that changes when he overhears what RaptureFarms has in store for him and his fellow Mudokons."

Release Date

The game will launch on April 6, 2021.

It'll be free for PlayStation Plus subscribers, too!

Confirmed Platforms

The game was originally slated for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (as an Epic Games Exclusive).

Now that it's also been revealed for the PlayStation 5, we'd imagine the game will also appear on Xbox Series X - but this is unconfirmed.
