After leaving seven months ago, former Assassin's Creed lead writer Darby McDevitt has returned to Ubisoft. Potentially, that could be for the franchise's next entry, Assassin's Creed Infinity.

Speaking with VGC, McDevitt explained his excitement to return to Ubisoft after he "pondered" his career last year. Now focusing on engaging to new ideas and possibilities along the way, he'll be staying with the franchise he's worked on already.

Assassin's Creed Narrative Director Rejoins Ubisoft

McDevitt's statement confirmed:

"Yes, I have returned to Ubisoft! As I pondered my career over the past year, I focused on my desire to explore new ideas and unknown frontiers. Much to my delight, this is reflected in my return to Ubisoft to work on AC. I’m excited to continue my journey. Stay tuned!”

Back in March 2021, McDevitt left Ubisoft to be iLLOGIKA's narrative director for an upcoming adaptation of A Quiet Place, which releases in 2022. Right now, it's unknown which AC title he'll work on, but we'd speculate Infinity is a safe bet.

Assassin's Creed Infinity is expected to released between 2024 to 2025. Make sure to follow us for more gaming news and updates as it happens.
