Ubisoft confirmed it's planning a new 60 fps update for Assassin's Creed Origins. The developers announced the change in a brief reply to a post celebrating Assassin's Creed Day (December 21). The post also mentioned the dev team is "looking into" the feature, which makes it sound rather like we have a while to wait.

Ubisoft Adds 60 FPS Support for Assassin's Creed Origins Soon

Assassin's Creed Origins was the first title released after Ubisoft rebooted the series and started to emphasize an action-oriented open world instead of stealth-based missions. Potentially, this new update could be Ubisoft's approach in polishing the older Assassin's Creed entries for next-gen consoles, though there's no indication just yet whether this is a platform-exclusive update.

For now, we'll have to wait for this patch's release to see how Assassin's Creed will improve and on which platform.

Meanwhile, the developers are currently working on a Splinter Cell remake for current gen consoles. Ubisoft is planning to make it as groundbreaking as the original's release on the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, and Xbox generation, but with plenty of modern enhancements as well.
