In the past, we've normally seen seasons last somewhere between 10 and 13 weeks. Just to help, here's a quick look at when the game's past seasons have normally started and finished:

With all the info we have at our disposable, we should be able to give a rough estimation of when we can expect to see Sea of Thieves Season 8 start. It's also worth noting that a new Season will typically begin on a Thursday.

Here's when we think Sea of Thieves Season 8 will start and end:

  • Sea of Thieves Season 8 start date: September 1, 2022
  • Sea of Thieves Season 8 end date: December 1, 2022

For the time being though this is just speculation, and we'll have to wait on an official announcement from the developer closer to the time for confirmation.

Sea of Thieves Season 8 Leaks & Teasers

Sea of Thieves will be undergoing a bit of a makeover in Season 6, as Rare sets to work introducing several new core pillars of content into the game.

This includes new narrative-driven content in the form of Adventures and Mysteries to complement the game's regular Seasonal releases. In addition, it's expected that each season will include a finale Adventure which will last three weeks and impact not just the lore but the world of Sea of Thieves too.

With this in mind, we suspect that we'll start to see more lore and more storylines emerge throughout Season 6, and this will of course inform the direction of Season 7, and eventually Season 8 too.

For now, we're still too far out to realistically say what direction the game's storyline is heading, but who knows we could see some leaks in the future which hint at where we might be in Season 8.

It's also worth noting that the official roadmap also teased "Expanded role play & quest steps", but for now it's not been explained what this could entail.
