Brazilian speedrunner Apel has revealed a handy way to skip the iconic ladder-climbing scene in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

Why anyone besides a speedrunner would want to do that is beyond me, since the long climb leads to the acapella version of the game’s amazing 'Snake Eater' song, but to each their own.

For those foolish enough to skip this amazing sequence in Metal Gear Solid 3, you can see the full steps over on Metal Gear Speedrunners (via Kotaku).

Ladder Speedrun Any%

Admittedly, while the ladder climb in Metal Gear Solid 3 is genuinely one of the game's best moments, fans playing through it a second or third time might find it tiresome.

Naturally, those who like to speedrun games will also find this section too tiresome, since it eats up a good amount of time, making this glitch super handy.

Unfortunately, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater isn’t readily available on most gaming systems.

There are HD versions of the game on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PlayStation Vita, alongside a 3DS port that is playable in stereoscopic 3D.
