Best Weapon in Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart

There are many weapons to find in Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart. While all of them have their uses, the most powerful is unquestionably the RYNO 8, a powerful weapon that causes shockwaves that damage the whole area, not including you, the player.

By firing it once into a crowd, players can effectively beat all enemies in a single shot, like a more powerful, wider-reaching version of the Warmonger.

To get the RYNO 8, players need to find all the Spybots in the game. You can find out how to do that and where to redeem them for the RYNO itself at our guide here!

Where to Get All Weapons

All weapons in the game can be bought from the vendor Ms. Zurkon, who appears in different areas, usually several times in each level. As you progress through the campaign and complete certain quests and stages, Ms. Zurkon will add new weapons to her inventory. We’ve laid out all the weapons and how you can get them in the table below.

Levelling Up Weapons and Guns

You can level up your weapons simply by using them - any time you damage or effect an enemy with that weapon, it grants it XP. Enough XP will increase the level of the gun, and each level unlocks more possible upgrades.

To level up the weapons as fast as possible, simply use it as much as possible in every combat encounter, and try heading to the Zurkie's arena for some combat challenges to really expedite the process.

Upgrading Weapons

You can upgrade all weapons at any Ms. Zurkon by spending Raritanium, the blue crystals found in crates and outcroppings around the game. The specific upgrades vary from weapon to weapon, but upgrade paths that circle around the yellow icons will net powerful new abilities for the weapon. As you level up the gun with use, more upgrades to buy will unlock.

You can also vastly increase the guns' power in Challenge Mode, aka New Game Plus. For many of the weapons, especially those more commonly used, Ms. Zurkon will unlock Omega modes: higher-power variants you can buy with Bolts. These versions have more stats and increase the level cap from 5 to 10.

Should You Buy the Shatterbomb or Enforcer?

The first choice of weapons you’ll have to buy in Rift Apart is between the Shatterbomb or the Enforcer, essentially grenades or a shotgun. Both are technically for sale when you first encounter Ms. Zurkon, but by that point you’ll have only got the bolts to pay for one or the other, so you’ll have to choose which you want.

The reality is, it doesn’t matter too much which one you choose, as you’ll only be using it for a few fights before you encounter Ms. Zurkon again. By this point you’ll have likely got enough bolts to pay for the other weapon, so as choices go, it’s not too big of a deal.
