How to Farm XP and Level Up Fast in Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart

To farm XP in Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, players need to fight enemies as much as possible, as often as possible. Experience is gained through the action of simply inflicting damage on enemies, whether it’s a killing blow or not. Consequently, the burst way to do that is to stay aggressive and keep damaging enemies. You won’t get experience for platforming or solving puzzles.

Farming Character XP

Generally speaking it’s far easier to farm weapon experience, which comes a lot quicker than character experience. The level cap of your characters in the first playthrough maxes out at 10, and the rate at which you tend to earn experience means that you’ll reach that cap around the end of the campaign (assuming you don’t farm XP or make an effort to avoid fighting).

Level Up Fast

To farm character XP, we haven’t found any exploit yet, but the best approach that we found was simply to keep fighting enemies at Zurkie’s arena and continue to do so, as it’s a continuous supply of enemies for you to tank. Head to the easiest quests with numerous foes, and battle through them over and over to watch your character’s level slowly rise. Fortunately, you can also pair this with the much more expedient and specific way you can farm Raritanium, which we’ve laid out here.

Farming Weapon XP

To farm weapon XP in Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, simply make sure to hit as many enemies as you can and inflict as much damage as possible. This means that certain weapons tend to gain experience much faster than others, like the Warmonger or the RYNO, having huge radius effects that deal significant damage.

However, weapons that don’t deal damage, such as the Cold Snap and Topiary Sprinkler, also gain XP simply through using them. Either way, the principle is the same - hit as many enemies as possible with them for rapid XP gain.

You can also boost the XP you earn either way by finding the Captain Starshield armour set. Each piece you earn boosts your overall XP gain, so if farming experience is a priority for you, you should immediately head to our armour guide and find out where all the pieces are.
