Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart: Is There Co-Op Multiplayer?

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has been a hit for developer Insomniac Games. Launched exclusively for PS5 last month, Rift Apart marks the latest adventure in Insomniac's long-running platform series, taking us between 15 games in the last 19 years. Rather than follow the 2016 remake's story, this one takes place after 2013's Into The Nexus.

From the get-go, we knew that Ratchet & Clank wouldn't be alone in this adventure. This time around, Insomniac's included a new female protagonist called Rivet, a fellow Lombax. Between these two characters, some fans might be wondering, is there any co-op multiplayer in Rift Apart?

Sadly, the answer is no. Rift Apart is a single-player focused experience which swaps between these two characters during the story. We've seen Insomniac offer co-op and competitive multiplayer before - Up Your Arsenal, Deadlocked and All 4 One being the main examples - but much like the 2016 Remake, this isn't one of them. This has been officially confirmed by the developer.
