Will we see a NieR Replicant Switch version?

Some new evidence dataminers gleaned from the game’s graphics files suggest there could be a NieR Replicant Switch release, or at least that Square Enix considered it at some point.

Reddit user SkacikPL posted images of the files, though admittedly, there isn’t much to go on.

A few strings reference “NX” files, with “NX” being the original and development codename for the Nintendo Switch.

It could explain why Amazon France briefly listed NieR Replicant on Switch in late 2020.

However, it’s not a guarantee by any means.

More recent file strings contain no reference to NX, which could mean the plans were scrapped or possibly delayed.

There is another possibility, though.

Current rumors suggest Nintendo will reveal its upgraded Switch system, tentatively dubbed the Switch Pro, before E3 2021 because its third-party development partners have several major reveals they plan on announcing during the summer expo.

Square Enix is one of those partners, and there’s always a chance, however slight, they could announce NieR Replicant and NieR Automata on Switch or Switch Pro.
