As the sequel to Vampire: The Masquerade is being developed, fans of the cult classic have a way to quench our bloody thirst while we wait. About a year ago, Sharkmob announced that they were working on a battle royale game set in the Vampire; The Masquerade universe. They showed an incredible teaser and revealed that it would be a multiplayer game.

It is safe to assume that some projects won't have made it through 2020, but this game did. Yesterday, we were able to see the awesome trailer, and now we have a chance at a closed beta. A vampire Battle Royale is something I didn't know I needed so badly.

Join the closed alpha of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt

As part of the Summer Game Fest Kickoff show yesterday, Sharkmob offered a more in-depth look at the title, showing new footage and announcing its name: Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt.

It's clear from the trailer that players will rely primarily on their supernatural abilities, with many abilities to choose from. A cloud of black mist allows players to teleport around the battlefield, use razor-sharp claws to claw up buildings, and light up blinding beams to stun opponents.

While the trailer suggests many of the powers from Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines will appear in the sequel, there may be more for returning fans to discover. Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt is shaping up to be an interesting new take on the series, taking the franchise's vampires head-to-head in fast-paced multiplayer action in a way that would make Epic Games jealous.

A closed alpha will take place on July 2 for eager players to get a sneak peek at the upcoming online game. It will be launching later this year, but interested players can get involved early; to sign up, visit Bloodhunt.com. In Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt's latest trailer, we get a first look at the battle royale, as well as some cinematic gameplay and gorgeous cutscenes.

Customize your own character in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt

I want to point out that players can customize their characters. Many battle royale games are great, such as Fortnite, APEX Legends, and Call of Duty: Warzone, but there are still too many that don't let you customize your character. Although it's nice to have skins, I'd rather stay who I am.

I am sorry, but I am tired of looking like the rest of the crowd. As a true RPG, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt lets players really express themselves. I believe that this game already stands head and shoulders above the rest since it is more of a unique RPG.

Customization will be part of the experience. The clip shows players customizing their vampiric avatar's clothing and appearance, and there already looks like there are lots of weapons, including katanas and pistols. This promo mostly centers on vampires using their supernatural abilities to fight across neon-lit, underground clubs and darkened rooftops of the city of New York, which has become synonymous with the series.

Overall, as a fan for years, I'd say this is a great way to hold players off until the true sequel to Vampire: The Masquerade comes out.
