It's been revealed that Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 almost got cancelled, according to the game's publisher CEO.

Speaking in a recent interview with Avanza, Paradox CEO Fredrik Wester mentioned that the game was on the verge of cancellation after another developer, Hardsuit Labs, was taken off the project. As translated by DeepL Translator, Wester said:

"When we lifted the game from the original developer, we had a long discussion about whether to end the game or push it forward. At the time we were actually prepared to shut down production altogether."

Wester then revealing that Bloodlines 2 was saved after presenting a "pitch that we thought was convincing enough to push forward." That allowed the game to resume development, though at this time, we don't have a confirmed release date for it.

Wester then reassured fans he has "very high hopes that it will be a good game that meets the expectations of the players." While he's not revealed who's taken over development of Bloodlines 2 yet, Wester confirmed they;re "a very reputable and talented developer" who's made numerous games in the past.
