Metroid Dread launched for Nintendo Switch last week, marking the end of Samus' current character arc, but her earlier adventures live on in a a different way.
After achieving the best launch in the franchise's history in the UK, Metroid Dread has increased the sales of past Metroid games. Twitter user Shinesparkers noticed all of the series' older entries available on other consoles have re-entered the Nintendo eShop charts in the UK.

Metroid Dread Has Increased The Sales Of Past Metroid Games
Metroid Dread currently tops the Switch's best-selling chart on the Nintendo eShop. However, as a result of the excitement around Dread, Metroid: Samus Returns has re-entered the 3DS charts at the number three spot.
That's not all, either. The Wii U's charts have been refreshed with Metroid Fusion, Metroid Zero Mission, Metroid Prime Trilogy, and Super Metroid entering the list at positions 1st, 2nd, 7th, and 9th respectively.
While Dread continues to captivate fans, alongside the in-development Metroid Prime 4, the first Metroid Prime is rumoured to be receiving an HD remaster to accompany its 20th Anniversary.
Metroid Dread's launch accompanied the release of the Nintendo Switch OLED. The console refresh offers a wider screen, kickstand, and an ethernet port when docked, but generated some controversy last week after reports emerged about its 4K capabilities.
