Update - 07/09/21:

Remedy has officially announced Alan Wake Remastered through an Alan Wake fansite. Sam Lake, the Creative Director of Remedy Entertainment, revealed the news:

Alan Wake Remastered is the original experience you fell in love with all those years ago. We did not want to change that. But the visuals all around, including the character model of Alan Wake himself and the cinematics, have been updated and improved with some choice next-generation upgrades.

The remastered version will be updated with 4K visuals and includes both its story DLCs in The Signal and The Writer. A director's commentary from Sam Lake will also be added.

Even though no release date has been confirmed, Alan Wake Remastered will launch this fall on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One X|S, and PC.

Original story follows:

Alan Wake recently re-emerged in one of Control's expansions, creating an interconnected universe between both franchises. And it seems like the famed writer could be returning once more through a remastered version of the original, beloved game.

A remastered version of Alan Wake - stated as coming to PS4, PS5 and Xbox - has been listed across multiple Taiwanese retailers, one of them being Rakuten Taiwan. That follows on from an Epic Games Store leak earlier this year, which revealed a PC edition was in the works, alongside Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Alan Wake Remastered Appears For PS4 and PS5

First reported by prolific leaker, Wario64, the game is seemingly aiming for an October 5th release. Respected industry analyst, Daniel Ahmad backed-up this claim, implying that the game will be officially announced later this week. Given that the PlayStation Showcase is airing on Thursday, it would make sense for the remastered copy to be revealed during this event.

Since the success of Control, Alan Wake 2 news has been continuously circulating, with rumours being strengthened by Remedy's registering of an ‘Alan Wake’s Return’ Trademark.

While, Remedy's CEO stated that a "second, smaller-scale game continues in full production mode" for a AAA franchise, with fans speculating that this could in-fact be the famed writer's next adventure. Control itself will see the development of a multiplayer spin-off set within its supernatural world.
