Knowing how to use Fuse in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom will be an essential part of learning how to master the game. One of the core mechanics in Tears of the Kingdom is the new Fuse ability. This ability lets you merge various items together, for interesting synergies and effects.

Fuse allows you to merge weapons, items, and various materials to strengthen them. These combinations enable powerful effects, and status increases that seem to only be limited by our creativity. Fuse is an exciting new mechanic, and we can’t wait to test out all the combinations. Read on to learn about the ones available so far.

How to use Fuse in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

The Fuse ability lets you merge two separate objects or items in the world together into one. For example, in a recent trailer, we see Link fuse a regular stick with a boulder lying on the ground to create a sturdy hammer weapon. Both these items were lying around in the open world, and did not require any meticulous preparation. Fuse will likely play a major role in giving a creative sandbox atmosphere to Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom is not just a sequel in name only, as this Fuse mechanic is a marvellous innovation to the Breath of the Wild formula. You can activate the Fuse ability by pressing the L button on the top left of your Nintendo Switch controller. The L button seems to be a dedicated button that can be used in multiple states. You can use it while holding a weapon, while aiming with a bow, and even while pointing toward items lying on the ground.

Fuse provides Tears of the Kingdom with endless possibilities in terms of combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving. It’s one of the most innovative mechanics we have seen in any major title. We look forward to messing around with the hundreds of potential fusions and all their effects.
