Nacon Connect Gollum Trailer Shows First Look at Characters, Mirkwood

The Nacon Connect Gollum segment might not have given us a Gollum release date, but we did get a first look at some of the characters who’ll play a role in Stinker’s journey.

As expected, Gandalf will show up, and Legolas’ father Thranduil will play at least some part in the tale. That’s to be expected considering Gollum remains trapped in the elven kingdom for a time after escaping Mordor.

The Mouth of Sauron was a bigger surprise, however. Daedalic Entertainment said Sauron’s lieutenant will be seen for the first time and is being faithfully recreated from his (admittedly very brief) description in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Daedalic also said Gollum will include a number of lesser known characters that still play an influential role. We’ve weighed in on who some of those should be, but we’ll have to wait for a while yet to see if our guesses pan out.

Gollum is slated for a fall 2022 release date.

Meanwhile, we’ve got three pre-alpha character models to tide us over: Gandalf, Mouth of Sauron, and Thranduil.
