AFK Arena codes (April 2023) - Free diamonds, gold, and hero coins

Every now and then, developer Lilith shares AFK Arena codes that promise anything from free Guild Coins and Diamonds to EXP, Hero Scrolls and gold. These codes tend to expire pretty quickly, making it imperative that you keep up to date with them. Spend a few days away from the game and you might just miss out on an AFK Arena code that could net you your next best unit completely free of charge.

How to redeem AFK Arena codes

As of December 2020, the method for redeeming AFK Arena codes has changed. You actually can't redeem them in-game anymore. Instead, it needs to be done through the official website.

Open the AFK Arena website (and maybe bookmark it to make things easier in the future), then hit the 'Redeem Code' button at the top of the page.

At this point, you'll need to launch the game and find your AFK Arena Account ID. To do this, just tap your player avatar on the top-left of the screen. A window will pop up with your server and player ID just under your player name.

Type this ID into the Redeem Code page on the AKF Arena website. Now you need a verification code. Follow the steps below to find that.

• Tap the 'Settings' tab at the bottom of the player window in-game.
• Tap where it says Verification Code, just above the Music and Sound Effects sliders.
• Enter the code that pops into the Verification Code box on the AFK Arena website.

Assuming the ID and Verification Codes are correct, you should be able to hit 'Log In'. On this next screen, you'll see your in-game name and a box: this is where you enter your AFK Arena codes.

Once you've confirmed that the in-game name displayed is for the right account, start entering the promo codes below and hit redeem. The rewards should land in your account's in-game mail straight away.

How do I spend AFK Arena gems, gold, and Guild coins?

As is the case with most free-to-play RPGs, AFK Arena bases its content around various types of currency, locking different rewards behind the need to collect and spent each given resource.

Different tasks reward different coins, and each kind is used to progress through the game in other ways. The deeper you get into AFK Arena, the more of each you'll need to advance further. It's simple on paper. But, as a newbie, it can get confusing. So here's a quick note on what the coins and goodies the latest AFK Arena codes will get you.

AFK Arena gold

Gold is a resource you'll likely have in abundance as you get further through the game, and you will always need it to keep advancing.

Gold is used to upgrade gear and level up your characters. Without it, it doesn't matter how much you spend to pull a powerful unit. If you can't level them up and give them worthwhile gear, they'll never reach their true potential.

AFK Arena Guild coins

Guild Coins largely come as a reward from Guild Hunts. It makes sense that contributing to your guild would result in rewards for the guild, after all. Once you have enough, you can exchange Guild Coins for specific heroes, gear, and essence in the Guild Shop.

AFK Arena hero coins

Typically earned by melting down duplicate common heroes in your storage, Hero Coins can be repurposed into specific heroes in the Barracks.

AFK Arena diamonds

As the game's premium currency (the kind you can buy with real money), AFK Arena Diamonds serve many purposes. Virtually anything a non-premium currency can do, Diamonds can do as well. Not better in most regards, but the versatility means they're always valuable and always worth redeeming from free AFK Arena codes.

AFK Arena hero scrolls

While Gems can be exchanged in multiple different ways (including summoning new units), Hero Scrolls exist purely to bring more heroes into your team through the Tavern. Most AFK Arena codes will award Common Hero Scrolls that veteran players largely won't need, but these beginner-friendly heroes will get new players through a good chunk of their adventures.
