Original article: CES 2022 was one of the best showings to date, featuring standout products like LG's C2 range (and their new G2 series) to some fantastic QD-OLED monitors set for release, but it's the Sony Bravia XR A95K TV that we're sort of obsessing over.

And it looks like after much anticipation the new QD-OLED TV is on its way!

As expected, the upcoming entries in the Master Series mark an (arguably joint) world's first for TVs thanks to the new QD-OLED display.

We say arguably, as the panel itself is manufactured by Samsung and combines Quantum Dots and OLED in order to achieve 'perfect' blacks, incredible brightness, and vibrant colours too.

This isn't the only joint world-first either, with the Alienware AW3423DW using the same QD-OLED panel as the Samsung Odyssey G8QNB too.

With the Sony XR A95K, there's more 'under the hood' so to speak, with the inclusion of their powerful XR processor that offers up a number of enhancements to the picture.

XR Colour is said to deliver more colours than ever before, working alongside the Cognitive Processor XR to reveal subtle shades only seen in real life.

XR Contrast boldly claims to up colour brightness by 200% compared to a conventional TV too.

There's also XR Motion, which combats blur and is great for gaming or watching sports.

And you're also getting auto low-latency mode and variable refresh rate while gaming to allow for a fast, smooth gameplay experience.

Plus, the new TV is also set to feature XR 4K upscaling. This means that whatever the quality of the source you're viewing, the XR processor will artificially recreate lost textures and render the image as close to 4K as possible.

Sony Bravia XR A95K TV sizes

The Sony Bravia XR A95K TV is coming in two sizes, 65" and 55".

This limits those that might otherwise want a smaller option to fit in cosy living room spaces, but the 55" version should be great for most people.

If you do want to go smaller, then you'll have to check out their A90K, which goes as small as 42", much like the recently released LG C2.

Sony Bravia XR A95K TV price

Sony has recently announced the official pricing for their upcoming TV, the Bravia XR A95K.

The highly anticipated QD-OLED TV will have a starting price of $2,999 USD for the 55-inch model, with the 65-inch display coming in at $3,999 USD.

With QD-OLED technology hitting the scene, a hefty price tag was to be expected, and that goes for QD-OLED monitors too, like the Alienware AW3423DW ultrawide, which we now know retails for around $1,300 in the US.

Sony Bravia XR A95K for gaming

The old 'Perfect For PS5' slogan is back, but what exactly are we getting that makes this a potential addition to our best TVs for PS5 list?

Well, it supports 4K at 120hz and has ALLM and VRR support from the go, without the need to wait for firmware updates.

It also automatically recognises that it's connected to a PS5 and adjusts the HDR optimally for the game, and automatically adjusts the picture depending on if you're watching a movie or gaming.

Tempting...but with all these upcoming QD-OLED gaming monitors, it may not be as clear a cut decision as we thought, especially with the recent rumour that LG will be releasing a 48" UltraGear OLED monitor this year...
