First arriving in Genshin Impact 2.7, Yelan has reappeared in the second half of 3.4, so let's start farming those ascension materials. All the materials she’ll need are available to grab right now, including a drop from the Chasm boss, the Ruin Serpent.
This guide lists all the Yelan materials and the best places to find them. It also covers what you’ll need to level up Yelan’s talents and the best Domains for finding her talent-up items.

|80||6 Varunada Lazurite Chunk, 20 Runic Fang, 60 Starconch, 24 Lieutenant's Gemstone, 120k Mora|
Here's what you'll need to level up Yelan. If you want that broken down, it translates to:
- 25 Varunada Lazurite
- 168 Starconch
- 18 Recruit's Insignia, 30 Sergeant's Insignia, 36 Lieutenant's Insignia
- 46 Relic Fang
- 420,000 Mora
You'll also need 421 Hero's Wit for the required experience, so plan on farming plenty of Blossoms of Revelation. Make sure to take advantage of any Ley Line Overflow events as well.
Yelan Talent materials
|2||3 Teachings of Prosperity, 6 Recruit's Insignia, 12.5k Mora|
|3||2 Guide of Prosperity, 3 Sergeant's Insignia, 17.5k Mora|
|4||4 Guide of Prosperity, 4 Sergeant's Insignia, 25k Mora|
|5||6 Guide of Prosperity, 6 Sergeant's Insignia, 30k Mora|
|6||9 Guide of Prosperity, 9 Sergeant's Insignia, 37.5k Mora|
|7||4 Philosophies of Prosperity, 4 Lieutenant's Insignia, 1 Gilded Scale, 120k Mora|
|8||6 Philosophies of Prosperity, 6 Lieutenant's Insignia, 1 Gilded Scale, 260k Mora|
|9||12 Philosophies of Prosperity, 9 Lieutenant's Insignia, 2 Gilded Scale, 450k Mora|
|10||16 Philosophies of Prosperity, 12 Lieutenant's Insignia, 2 Gilded Scale, 1 Crown of Insight, 700k Mora|
Here's what you'll need for Yelan's talents if you want to upgrade them to level 10. As always, we don't recommend investing in every talent, though. Aside from the rarity of Crowns of Insight, you're better off tailoring your material spend on a build that suits your playstyle.
Where to farm Yelan materials
- Varunada Lazurite
This comes from the Oceanid in Liyue and the Hydro Hypostasis in Inazuma. These bosses rely on water illusions and wide-reaching Hydro attacks, so go in with at least one character able to generate shields. Electro and Cryo are ideal elements for taking on the challenges.
- Insignia Items
These drop from Fatui agents, scattered across the three regions in no small number. Check out the Genshin Impact interactive map for specific locations.
- Runic Fang
The Ruin Serpent boss in The Chasm drops these. Plan on fighting it frequently if you want to level Yelan up completely.
These Liyue specialties are only found on the half circle of coast south of Dragonspine and running around the eastern edge of Guili Plains, ending in Guyun Stone Forest.
- Prosperity Items
The Prosperity-series books only come from Taishan Mansion in Liyue on Monday, Thursday, and Sunday. Consider using Condensed Resin to get more rewards each run.
- Crown of Insight
These are incredibly rare. You can get a few from enhancing the trees in Dragonspine and the Grand Narukami Shrine, but the most reliable way is participating in events - assuming they list Crown of Insight as a reward.
Mora is rewarded for any number of tasks, but if you want to farm it in greater quantities, complete the Leyline of Wealth challenges (the gold bubbles on the map) and use Condensed Resin to increase how much you earn each go.
