Yakuza: Like a Dragon Sequel Announced, Creator Is Leaving SEGA

RSG Studio was established by Toshihiro Nagoshi, who created the Yakuza series. Now, Nagoshi has left the studio he helped develop, with writer-designer, Masayoshi Yokoyama becoming RGG Studio's Director and Executive Producer. As for Sato, he previously acted as series-director and producer for various Yakuza titles.

Within this announcement, Yokoyama also stated that a follow-up to Like A Dragon is being developed and will progress Ichiban Kasuga’s tale:

Ryu Ga Gotoku’s predecessors have passed down their beliefs and know-how to each and every staff member. You can witness it in the recently released Lost Judgment and will see it in the upcoming sequel to Yakuza: Like a Dragon which will continue Ichiban Kasuga’s story.
This game is currently being developed by producer Sakamoto and directors Horii, Ito and Mitake. I myself along with Takeuchi and Furuta are working on the story.

As part of this update, statements were released by Nagoshi, Sato and Yokoyama, which you can find in full here. Either way, Yakuza still appears to be in capable hands, and we'll keep you informed with any sequel developments as they emerge.
